Light Packing – Is it Possible?

Travelling is something that I always look forward to. However, in order for the travelling fun to commence, there has to be a very important but annoying task involved – packing!

I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with this task. Whilst on the one hand, packing means that relaxation time is getting closer, on the other, it’s quite a headache to decide what to take with you and what to leave behind, especially if you’re going for a short trip.

Here are a few tips that I hope will ease your packing days!

Make a list – It’s always better to have all the items you need to pack written down or listed on your phone. That way you can easily add things if you remember something randomly while you’re busy doing another task.

Plan your outfits – I find it best to lay out all the clothes that I might take with me and sort them out into specific outfits. This will help you identify what’s missing or eliminate that unnecessary top or piece of jewellery.

Basics – The best thing you can do is pack your luggage with basic items, such as a plain white/black t-shirt. Apart from the fact that you probably won’t feel like dressing up when you’re on holiday, this will provide a lot of flexibility to your outfits.

Scrap that shoe addiction – Shoes are one of the ‘heavy’ clothing items that you’ll have to take on your trip. Limit yourself to two or three pairs of shoes including the ones you’ll be wearing on your travelling day. Make sure to pack a comfortable pair of trainers if you’re going to be doing a lot of walking.

Miniatures – Beauty and make-up items are a bit tricky to pack. Opt for items that you are definitely going to use on a daily basis. Holidays are also the perfect opportunity to test out sample products and miniature ones. Products always look more appealing in their mini-form anyway!

Have a safe trip!
