Are you a couch potato? Do you strive to leave for tomorrow anything that does not need to be done today? Then 10th August is the perfect day for you. It has been designated as National Lazy Day, the day dedicated each year for people to break free from work, forget their chores and truly unwind, and this year it falls fittingly on a Sunday.

Formerly also known as the International Day of Doing Nothing, the name was later changed simply because it was too long, defeating the intended function of the day, which is to do as little as possible. Although the act of being lazy and doing nothing might seem like a simple enough task to carry out on this unique day, it is best if it is somehow planned to make sure that you truly cherish each moment of doing nothing.

Here is what you should keep in mind. What do you usually do when you want to relax? Put on your comfy clothes, listen to your favourite music, eat your preferred choice of fast food? This is the day to do it. Forget your uptight diet, your endless list of chores and kick back to enjoy some deserved ‘me’ time. Get away from the everyday stress, relax and don’t feel guilty about it.
