Blazer of Fashion

As a fashion follower, I am always interested to see what The Duchess of Cambridge is wearing. I will be even more interested when she visits Malta at the end of the summer! Kate has won the hearts of the masses and, like Diana before her, has successfully taken on the role of fashion icon and the people’s princess.

We all want to know what Kate is wearing! Back in 2013, clothes designer, Vivienne Westwood slated her for not wearing the same clothes to functions when she should be making an effort to be more ‘green’ and at the same time announcing- “if you’re going to all that trouble to get an outfit that suits you, then you should keep on wearing it!”

Well, nobody can accuse the Duchess of not ‘recycling’ her outfits now! She was spotted wearing a navy blue blazer at The Commonwealth Games this week. one which she has worn several times and in so doing, managed to achieve many different looks. She is also very fond of her patent nude shoes which she utilises brilliantly for both day and night. She mixes high street fashion with designer labels and creates an image that is very unique to her but at the same time ‘of the people’ and easy to copy.

She is a great example to women on how to buy staple, investment pieces that will work time after time in a capsule wardrobe. As already mentioned, her navy blue blazer is a great way to achieve both a smart and casual look and which will never go out of fashion either. Team it with a striped T-shirt for a nautical look or wear it with a tight fitting dress or skirt and high heels for a sophisticated day at the office.

We don’t have to break the bank to do this either! Shops such as New Look and Debenhams have been selling this little garment for quite some time. So, Ms Westwood, instead of slamming our Kate, I think you should be singing her praises! I, for one am so pleased that we now have another ‘people’s princess’ to blaze the fashion trail and to give us some ideas!
