MANUEL CUTAJAR began acting since he was at the MUSUEM, but managed to get his first acting jobs because of a great teacher he had in secondary school – Peppi Azzopardi. Peppi introduced him to people like actor Mario Micallef who believed in Manuel and trusted him with roles at the Manoel Theatre. “…then Hector Bruno came along with whom I played my first main role on television Sisters. I don’t want to forget anyone, but people like Salvu Mallia and Joe Quattromani helped me so much in my career as well. I managed to get some small roles on foreign productions. Currently I’m playing Salvu in Caqqufa a production by Watermelon that is aired every Tuesday on TVM 20.40pm”, stated MANUEL CUTAJAR in his introduction to this interview with RAMONA PORTELLI.

What do you think is your best asset?

My determination to learn. I’m always reading about acting techniques and I watch lots of movies.

What’s your opinion about tattoos?  Do you own one or more?

I have no tattoos and I’ve refrained from getting any because of my acting career.

What is it that you cannot live without?

My girlfriend, Claudette.

What are your weaknesses?

Chocolate.

What do you prefer: women or cars?  And why?

I can’t compare objects with humans.

What makes you angry the most?

Hypocrisy and those who think they learned enough. I believe life is a continuous lesson that you never graduate from.
