Tips on reducing Frizzy Hair

I’m sure you all know how hard it is to manage our annoying frizzy hair! Especially due to living in a very humid country, our hair isn’t always our best friend. Well here are a few home remedy tips which may help out to beat all the frizziness!

A whipped egg – Wet your hair and whisk an egg and a tablespoon of water in a bowl. As soon as you see it getting foamy apply it to your hair and massage evenly and gently into your scalp – I know, it doesn’t smell pleasant. Leave it in for about 20-30 minutes, rinse out and wash hair with your favourite shampoo!

Mayonnaise – Ok, I know this is normally used to complement our dinners and take-aways, but try applying mayo to your hair and scalp and leave in for around 15 minutes. Wash out and feel the difference!

Banana and Avocado – All you need is to mash a banana and an avocado in a bowl to form a smooth paste, then massage into your scalp and leave in for 15-20 minutes. Rinse as normal.

Avoid over-washing your hair – We all love it when our hair smells nice and freshly washed but over-washing your hair really doesn’t help at all. It may cause dryness and loss of hair. Remember when we wash our hair we are washing out essential sebum, so try and leave at least 3-4 days between each wash.

Olive and Coconut Oil – A tablespoon of coconut oil mixed with a tablespoon of olive oil is also very beneficial for frizzy hair. Apply it and massage all over your hair. Leave in for around 60 minutes then wash out with lukewarm water.

Natural Oils – These contain many nutrients which prevent dryness and help the roots absorb more oil. Massaging your scalp daily is a very effective way to get rid of frizzy hair. Castor oil, olive oil, coconut oil and sunflower oil are all great for doing this. Try leaving any one of the oils in your hair for an hour and then wash your hair with a herbal shampoo to see the difference!
