Tea bags are not just for a Cuppa!

So I guess you are all wondering what I’m on about! Many of us like to sip a cup of tea while watching our favourite TV programme in the cold winter months. Well, that tea bag can also be used to make yourself more beautiful.

Here are a few pointers to include in your beauty pampering routine:

Tea Steam

How about a little relaxation? Grab a bowl and fill it with water that has just been boiled. Be careful not to spill any as it will be HOT! You don’t need a large bowl, just a medium one will do fine and make sure it’s not plastic. Pyrex will do fine. Then add 2 tea bags to it – as if you were making tea – except this time its not for drinking! If you prefer, you can use green tea as it’s rich in antioxidants and it also has a soothing scent. When that’s done simply place a towel over your face and stand over the bowl for around 5-10 minutes to allow the steam to open and seep into your pores! This will hydrate and also tone your skin!

Nail Fix

This might sound strange but this actually works! Do you have lovely natural nails and just happened to bang one leaving a little crack? To get this sorted, cut a small square out of your tea bag, just enough to cover the split or crack, add a little bit of nail glue – NOT super-glue – and adhere to the nail. File off any extra edges until left smooth, then seal it off with your favourite top coat! Bam!

Eye Pillows

Brew 2 teabags, remove excess water and leave to cool for a few minutes so that they are not boiling hot. Put on some relaxing music and have a lie down somewhere comfortable. Then place the tea bags, one on each eye, securing them to cover the whole eye. Keep them on for around 15-20 minutes. When the time is up, remove and voilà! Brighter eyes should be noticeable straight away. The tannic acid found in tea helps to reduce puffiness and inflammation around the eye area.

There you have it – an other 3 ways to enjoy your tea!
