MARK DONEO has been involved in local television since 1998, making his debut as an actor in Guze Diacono’s Il-Mandraġġara and later in an episode of Delitti Maltin, both on TVM. In 1999 he penned and produced his first drama series Shelly Rayner for ONE with whom he has maintained a steady and productive relationship ever since, writing, producing and directing some of the station’s more loved and remembered series: Shelly Rayner, 1999 – 2001 (writer/producer); L-Ispettur Lowell , 2002 – 2003 (writer/producer/director); Id-Dar tas-Soru, 2004 [adaptation] (writer/producer/director); Solitaire, 2005 (writer/producer/director); Imsaħħra , 2006 [ghost hunting reality] (writer/producer/director); Miriana Coljero’, 2007 (writer/producer/director), Stejjer Qosra, 2010 (producer/director), Silhouette, 2013

Do you wear boxers or briefs, and why?

Briefs. They fit better under jeans.

Would you buy an expensive car or would you prefer the same amount of cash in your bank account?

Car. Don’t like money sitting around.

Are you the same Mark in private as the one in the public eye?

Not exactly, no. I’m much more reserved and quiet than people would expect. I’ve learned to smile more in public since I’ve been involved in television.

What’s the best bargain you have ever made so far?

I don’t really know. That’s more Louise’s department, but I bought a pair of Nike Jordan’s for half price from Munich earlier this year that look like a million dollars on my feet :)

What makes you angry the most?

Hypocrites. If I knew how to hate, these people would be first on my list. When I know that people are talking bull my scalp starts to itch with anger.
