Re-Create The Look: Taylor Swift

One celebrity make-up look that recently caught my eye was that of Taylor Swift at the People’s Choice Awards 2013. Simple but equally eye-catching, this look is ideal for a night out or for an intimate dinner… it’s relatively versatile and can be adapted for various occasions.

Here are a few easy steps to re-create this look:

  1. Start off by priming your face and eyelids.

  1. Apply foundation all over the face.

  1. Apply concealer under the eyes and on any blemishes you might have.

  1. Apply a light dusting of translucent face powder to seal your face products.

  1. Lightly re-define your brows.

  1. Apply a bronze eyeshadow all over your eyelids and slightly extend it outward and above your socket crease. Blend, blend, blend to avoid any harsh lines. It is better to build colour gradually rather than piling it all on at one go as this makes it easier for you to work the product.

  1. Line your eyes (upper lid and waterline) with a black eyeliner. Gently smudge the upper eyeliner with black eyeshadow in order to create a softer look.

  1. Take the same bronze eye-shadow you used on your lids and sweep it below the lower lashes. Blend it out.

  1. Curl your lashes and apply mascara. Apply false eyelashes if needed.

  1. Apply a soft pink blusher on the apples of the cheeks and extend it towards the temple, blending it out as you go along.

  1. Apply a highlighter above the blusher, along the bridge of your nose and on your cupid’s bow. This will make your face glow without appearing greasy.

  1. Line your lips with a nude lipstick and fill in with a matching nude lipstick.

And voila, you’re now all Taylored up!
