I’m Going to Be a Mother! (Part 2)

If you haven’t been following a well-balanced diet, start doing it right now.
If you haven’t been following a well-balanced diet, start doing it right now.

You and your developing baby will grow! Don’t worry about gaining weight; it’s a sign of a healthy pregnancy. Dieting during pregnancy could harm you and your baby. Some diets can lead to deficiency in ironfolic acid and other important vitamins and minerals.

If you haven’t been following a well-balanced diet, start doing it right now.

It is a myth that you should eat for two, but do not starve yourself either. Remember that if you are hungry, your baby is hungry as well.

You will find weight charts stating that during pregnancy you should put on not more then 12,5 kg or 15 kg.

I put on 20 kg when I was pregnant and didn’t even notice. Then I lost it between breastfeeding, changing diapers and teaching my baby boy how to walk.

Enjoy your pregnancy and fill your stomach with healthy treats, following the rule:  you are what you eat.

During pregnancy you should stay away from:

Soft cheeses (Brie, Camembert, Roquefort)

Pate and raw or under-cooked meat and eggs

Raw seafood and sushi

Fish that contain high level of mercury (shark, swordfish, marlin, tuna eat in moderation)

Liver and its products (pate and sausages)

You cannot resist sweets? I found a good solution for myself when I was pregnant.

You should know that eating chocolate and other sugars does not help develop organs, chocolates only make your baby grow bigger in size, and you know what it means?

Someone has to give birth to this growing miracle! So I think you will agree with me, that one small chocolate a day is good enough ;)
